SkillSphere never charges you for the English test. Some roles ask for proof of English, so you take a recognised proficiency exam of your choice through an independent provider and pay that provider directly. None of that money goes to SkillSphere, and the score is a credential you keep. Importantly, sitting the test is part of our vetting — it is not a guarantee of placement.
Many of the employers we work with in the UK and EU need people who can communicate confidently in English from day one. A recognised proficiency score is an objective, fair way to show that — the same standard for everyone, no matter where you studied. The certificate is yours to keep: it stays valid for other employers, universities and visa applications, so the effort travels with you.
In short: you choose a recognised test, you pay the exam provider directly, and the certificate belongs to you.

No. The test is one step in vetting, not a job offer. A passing score shows your English meets a role's requirement, but placement also depends on role fit, the employer's decision, your availability and other checks. We want to be completely clear about this so no one sits a test expecting a guaranteed outcome.
We understand why that feels unfair, and we don't dismiss it. But the key facts matter: the test fee was paid to an independent exam provider, not to SkillSphere — we receive none of it — and the score is a recognised credential you keep and can reuse elsewhere. A scam takes your money for itself and disappears; here, no money reaches us and you walk away with a certificate that has value beyond this application. Rejection means the role's requirement or fit wasn't met, not that you were defrauded.
Check whether the specific role actually requires a test before you book, choose the most affordable accepted option, and prepare before you sit it. Keep your certificate — most recognised scores stay valid for a couple of years and can be reused for other employers.
SkillSphere will never ask you to pay us directly for a test, application or placement. If anyone claiming to be SkillSphere asks you to send money to them, treat it as fraud and report it to careers@skillsphere.uk.
